To celebrate the launch of YEWTH Magazine Issue 007 we are inviting everyone – friends, family, artists and supporters of all ages – to the Ed Castle for a day and night mini festival of local talent. There will be bands, DJs, markets, local brews and of course freshly printed mags. #printisnotdead.
19.11.16 - The Edinburgh Castle Hotel - 3pm til late (all ages)
Battlehounds (Single Launch):
Local pub-rock kingpins Battlehounds are back to launch ‘Good Man’, the first single off their debut EP due early 2017. The trio’s driving hooks and husky tones have become a staple on any local line-up, not to mention being friends of YEWTH always ready to commentate a footy match or talk burritos for the camera.
Stirring from hiatus, psychedelic post-rock favourites Archers have returned – and we couldn't be more excited. The five-piece deliver an alluring onslaught of energy live. They’ve been around the CBD block, playing Big Day Out, Spin Off Festival and being named in Rip It Up’s Hot Six of 2013 (RIP).
This year local punk four-piece Hyder Seek have supported the likes of Camp Cope and The Hard Aches. They deliver an enthrallingly gritty set with a brutally honest performance from front-woman Bec Stevens.
Attila My Honey:
On tape they blend 60s psych with indie jangle and a dose of yé-yé pop. Live they’re an Adelaide five-piece called Attila My Honey, and a charming edition to the bill.
Emerging act The Smocks have an onstage charisma on par with their offstage meme game. Yet probably more importantly, they reek catchy licks and solid oddball rock song writing. *Insert witty comment about Dad bod of drummer.
Beer Garden DJs:
Swirl Records DJs
On Dit DJs (feat. Jesse Davidson and Jennifer Nguyen)
AU Review (feat. Sose Fuamoli)
Stay tuned for more exciting announcements to come.
