DÄRKNIFE have just dropped their new clip PURE PESTILENT MASS / ▬▬ι═════ﺤ , an experimental dark techno music video that pushes the boundaries of the possible relationship between audio and visuals.
DÄRKNIFE is an audiovisual duo consisting of local film guru Liam Somerville (Capital Waste Pictures) and music producer Michael Ellingford. The two make “ridiculously heavy, noise, dark techno beats” that is set to glitchy visuals live.
“It’s like we’re the characters onstage and onscreen while the beats are blaring. Techno and good music can transport you to somewhere where you’re fully immersed, but when you add visuals and stage presence it adds that extra level, which makes it pretty crazy,” explains Somerville.
The duo have just released their debut VHS tape FILTH PALACE through New York VHS label Videopunks X Basement Labs and are set to tour around Australia - and you could get involved.
DÄRKNIFE are doing a call out for any house parties, drain/warehouse raves, street parties and non-venue spaces to play at during their tour in March 2017 up the east coast.
“We want to present a platform for experimental expression of all dark forms of music, whether metal, electronic, DJs or something completely different that pushes boundaries. Surprise Us!”
