To all those out there with a desire for tantalising acoustic sets from local and interstate musical charmers. It is time to raise your cheese platters in celebration, as The Porch Sessions is bringing forth onto Adelaide its very own annual autumn festival aptly titled Porchland.
To all those unaware as to what The Porch Sessions are, do close your eyes for an instance and imagine the following…
It's an amber afternoon on a snoozy Sunday. Somewhere in suburban Adelaide you find yourself at a welcoming stranger’s porch with some enduring friends in a cosy crowd. All around you is a creek of people draped across Persian rugs, enjoying the serenading sounds of a folk/jazz/indie act such as Jesse Davidson or Cosmo Thundercat. Beneath bunting and fluttering fairy lights you see some ever so enticing sweets from The Food Cart Companysitting side by side with wonderful wines from Hither and Yon.
Now what does this all mean in regards to Porchland? Well, essentially, imagine the spectacle on a much grander scale. Imagine the artistic visuals of The Garden of Unearthly Delightsmeeting the relaxed musical aspects of Splendour In The Grass (minus any goon-bag-swinging teenagers, as this is in fact a family friendly event).
Porchland line-up, collabs and tickets released on Thursday February 4 at 6pm.
In the meantime, wet your whistle on our very own Porch Sessions feature video from last year.
