Video Premiere: Neon Tetra - 'Memoriam'

Words by Lewis Brideson

Local psych-groove band Neon Tetra have just released a music video for 'Memoriam', the first single off the group's forthcoming EP, Dos.

Shot and directed by Mickey Mason, the video is a lo-fi trip through hypnosis, a journey of self-discovery with colour burns and animations matching the catchy licks along the way.

"'Memoriam' in a nutshell is a reflection of someone's life. How blaming others for your own problems and avoiding obvious issues ends up destroying relationships. In turn ruining the fun for everyone else," Oscar Westell (drums/vocals) explains.

Neon Tetra will be joined by The Winter Gypsy and Burnside Mums to launch their EP in the Exeter Beer Garden on Saturday, February 25th. You can also expect the addition of a live brass section, new percussion and guest vocals.

'Memoriam' recorded by Alistair Wells at Grinch Records, mixed and mastered at dOgbOx studios by Chris Lambert.

Music video directed by Mickey Mason, assisted by Ella Kroning, animations from Emma Hough Hobbs, starring Hebe Sayce.
