Adelaide funk rockers Rat Ta’Mango have just dropped their sexy and soulful new single 'Merry-Go-Round'. The band have been busy recording the track over in Melbourne at Hothouse Audio.
The smooth tones of Lead singer Paris Clark-Proud are accompanied by equally smooth bass and guitar, along with a delightfully catchy chorus, making for a tune that instantly gets your attention.
It's definitely a unique funk tune with undertones of rock that fans have come to expect from the band.
'Merry-Go Round' marks the first time the group have been in the studio together, having had their previous EP self-recorded in a church.
Guitarist and vocalist Clark-Proud was stoked with how the sound came out.
“This is definitely the best we’ve sounded in a recording. The lads at Hothouse definitely got what we were trying to achieve, and it’s turned out far beyond what we expected going in,” he said.
Their Facebook Page boasts that they were voted as "Two times Most frequent band to purchase perfectly crafted sangas at the Balhannah Bakery (2015, 2016)", and, as impressive as that is, it would be pretty reasonable to think after this well crafted tune that more accolades will surely follow.
'Merry-Go-Round' is available for free listening on Soundcloud from today, and will be up on Spotify, Triple J Unearthed, and for purchase on iTunes later this week.
You can catch Rat Ta'Mango's free entry single launch party this coming Friday at Happy Sally with special guests Strangway from 9:30 pm.
